FODI is Looking for an ESOL Teacher and Coordinator

Closing date – 18th of May 2025 (midnight)

FODI is looking for a dynamic and passionate part-time (0.6) ESOL teacher and project coordinator who is committed to growing ESOL classes for asylum seekers and refugees in Sunderland and the surrounding area and to enhancing their wellbeing.

This role builds on FODI’s project of ESOL classes plus activities for our service users as part of the National Lottery’s “Awards for All” funding for the years 2025-2026. Currently, the project delivers 12 hours of teaching per week (8 by the coordinator, 4 by qualified volunteers) but it is anticipated that this number will rise as the hours of employment rise from the current 15 hours per week to 22.5 hours.  The number of hours to be taught by the coordinator will be negotiated with FODI manager, with due consideration to other duties within the role. FODI is highly committed to this project because of the overall landscape of ESOL provision in Sunderland.
