On July 10th, FODI took some of the volunteers to visit the Botanic Gardens in Durham to reward them for their hard work and dedication to our charity. We had an interesting and informative guided tour from gardener Ian, who kindly accommodated our group at a moment’s notice. The flowers, shrubs, trees and exotic plants were fabulous. It was a very hot day, so it was lovely to walk in the shade of the beautiful trees and hear the birdsong. We had a tasty lunch in the cafĂ© and made our way back to Sunderland. Everyone agreed it was an amazing day. We are grateful to the Tudor Trust, which provided the funding for this trip.
