Fodi Wins the 2025 Cohesion Award at the VCAS Open Arms Awards

At a special ceremony held today, 11th December 2025, in the historic Sunderland Minster Church, Fodi was proudly announced as the winner of the 2025 Cohesion Award at the VCAS Open Arms Awards.

This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of everyone involved in Fodi — from our trustees to our volunteers — who continually strive to support and unite our community.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the person who has nominated us and everyone who voted for us. Your support ensured that Fodi’s efforts were seen, valued, and celebrated.

We also express our sincere gratitude to VCAS (Voluntary and Community Action Sunderland) for creating such an inspiring awards program. The Open Arms Awards highlight the strength of Sunderland’s voluntary sector and encourage organisations like ours to continue making a positive impact.

The VCAS Awards, widely known as the Open Arms Awards, celebrate the city’s vibrant voluntary and community contributions across key areas such as Health & Wellbeing, Arts, Community Places, and Volunteering. Winners are chosen through a public vote, ensuring transparency, community involvement, and recognition of meaningful local efforts. This tradition builds on VCAS’s long-standing support — over 50 years — for community groups throughout Sunderland.

Congratulations to all Fodi trustees, volunteers, and supporters. This award belongs to all of us
